OTHER ACTIVITIES

a) Field observation:

Provision is made for visiting of various libraries and documentation centres of Kathmandu Valley.

b) Training, Seminar and Conferences:

Special provisions are made to have exposure amongst students on training, seminar, conference and lecture by visiting experts.

c) Short-Term Programme in Technology Application:

The Department also plans to offer short term training course in CDS/ISIS package for creating bibliographic date base.

d) Practical Work:

The department conducts practical sessions in each paper. Only in cataloguing and classification, certain marks are allotted for practice. Practice on computer for creating bibliographic data base is also part and parcel of the course.

During these five years the department has been able to give admission to more than 130 students. And more than 80 students have completed the course.

In second phase this department has planned to lunch the Master in Library and information Science (M.Lib.I.Sc)
